Railway station Kirov-Kotlasskiy

In 1895,Tsar of Russia signed a decree on the start of railway construction from Perm to Kotlas through Vyatka.

The construction of the railway in Vyatka were ceremoniously launched in August 19, 1895. The station building was laid in the spring of 1897. By August 1, the masonry of base was completed , and by the end of 1897 the building was ready. Painting and decorating  continued also in 1898.

October 21, 1897 Station "Vyatka" took its first passengers. On this day  at 7.30 a.m. the cash register opened  for the first sale of tickets for the first passengers of train Vyatka-Glazov. Promptly at 9:00 the train moved away from the platform.
From the early days telegraph, telephone, running water worked in the building of the station. After a while, electricity equipment was connected to the station.

Unfortunately, we don't know the architect of the building. Probably, the project was brought to Vyatka from St. Petersburg - from the Ministry of Railways. Perhaps it was one of the model stations.

With the construction of the new railway to Kotelnich, value of the old station has declined. It has turned from the main station into an ordinary station "The Kirov-Kotlasskiy". But the station building continues to live and to please us a nice architecture.
